The setup is a coin flip. The filters are the edge.
I tested my own setups on real price history. Here's each play and what the numbers actually said, the good and the bad.
1 · The entry (Last Ticker QP)
When the chart prints a BUY or SELL turn, take the quarter point closest to it. Stop one quarter point away, targets at the next three.
What the math says
Tested on 28 markets: on its own it's about a coin flip. It tells you where, not whether. Never take it alone.
2 · The 4H fib pullback
Find the 4-hour swing, wait for a 38.2% pullback, snap it to the nearest quarter point. 25-pip stop, hold for the third target.
What the math says
1,603 tests: wins about 47%, but positive overall because winners run 3× the risk. Taking profit at the first target only is breakeven.
3 · Arm time
Don't place orders in the dead hours after the 5 PM New York close. Wait for the 9 PM open, then arm.
What the math says
Same three levels on the same night: armed early lost 3R, armed at 9 PM made 5R. Still being tested, one night.
4 · The measured move (2×M)
Measure the first 1-hour candle at the 9 PM open (M). The night usually travels about twice that.
What the math says
144 sessions: travel ≈ 1.94× M. Yen pairs reach 25 pips most nights; most non-yen pairs rarely do.
5 · The pair filter
Targets are 2× the risk, so being right 1 in 3 breaks even. Trade the pairs that beat that, skip the ones that don't.
What the math says
Yen pairs led in testing (small sample, 12 nights each). AUDUSD lost, so it's on the never list.
Backtests use past data and small samples. They don't guarantee future results. Trade small and only risk money you can afford to lose.
